Jacqueline M. Jenkins's love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Jackie Jenkins (Springfield, MO) passed away on February 22, 2022, at the age of 99, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy of kindness and compassion.

Jackie was born in Altus, Oklahoma as the second oldest of eight children. Her parents, Carl & Myrtle Johnson, raised their family with an emphasis on honesty, hard work, community service and education. Jackie completed her business degree at Draughon's Business College in Oklahoma City in 1941. She married Spencer W. Jenkins in 1942. Her long working career included industries such as PepsiCo and she retired in 1986 from the Burlington Northern Railroad.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jackie. She loved reading, spending time with her friends and family, cheering for the Missouri State women's basketball team and playing cards. She was honored multiple times for her extensive volunteer hours for the Northview Senior Center in Springfield. Her welcoming nature and willingness to help the community, particularly seniors, was known by many. Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Karen Jenkins (Fresno, CA) and Ann (Steve) Pemberton (Blair, NE), four grandchildren, Tim Nickerson, Krista Lowenthal, Mark (Toni) Pemberton and Janell Pemberton, six great grandchildren (Garrett, Bryce, Andrew, Grace, Sabrina, and Rachael) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer W. Jenkins, and grandson, Patrick Nickerson.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, Springfield. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Northview Senior Center in her name.
