Born in Highland Park, IL, in 1943 while her father was serving in the US Army. She grew up in their family home within the city of Wichita, KS. Jackie loved her siblings, one brother and two sisters. They had many fun filled hours spend around the table at their Dad and Ma Jo's playing Spades, Pitch, or Call Your Partner.
Jackie married Ken in 1979. Every summer they would pack up the station wagon and take the kids to Rockaway Beach, Missouri. They would also go to Branson and Silver Dollar City. She often referred to Silver Dollar City as "Steal Your Dollar City" to her grandchildren.
Jackie worked for H&R Block for many years. While she worked there she was studying to become a nurse, graduating from St. John's School of Nursing. She retired from psychiatric nursing.
In the early 80's, Jackie's son Paul came home on leave and presented the Gospel. Jackie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Jackie let the Lord work through her in her life and was assured of her heavenly home.
Jackie loved animals especially dogs and was particularly fond of Rescue One, a local "No Kill" shelter from which she adopted her three of her four chihuahuas: Rico, Chico and Julio. She often supported them in their efforts to provide a loving caring home for abandoned pets. Giselle was her constant companion and mom was sad but relieved that Giselle passed before she did.
She loved various board games which amongst them included: Yahtzee, Scrabble, and Balderdash. She was fun to play with but also had a competitive spirit. She loved her family and sent many greeting cards over the years!
Jackie's children would like to express their love, gratitude, and appreciation for the care that Ken gave mom all these many years and then espe- cially at her end of life. Also, the family would like to thank Integrity Hospice for their tender care.
Jackie made this Facebook post January of 2024: "If I die tomorrow, I'll be with Jesus. If I live tomorrow, Jesus will be with me. I am the Lord's either way and I am grateful for it. Amen."
Service will be held for Jackie on August 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs, MO officiated by Jon Tyte.
