Jacob Norton, Sr. age 69, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 28, 2012. He was born November 17, 1942 to parents Frank and Maggie Norton of Fair Grove, MO.
In 1964 he married Teresa Jean Sartin and together they had five children, three of whom survive. The family lived in many places, all around Missouri.
Jacob is preceded in death by his parents, wife Teresa and sons Joe and Jacob, Jr.
He is survived by longtime girlfriend Gaylene Glenn, daughters Jody (Johnnie) Ray, Traina (Kenny) Sayer, Tina (Arley) McDaniel, Angie (Stevie) Nettles, Sandy Grider, Cindy (Heath) Pickett, and Amanda (Sam) Medlock; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Everett; sisters Mary Lounith and Jan Arneil; a host of family and friends. Jacob worked at many things, but was truly a farmer at heart. He raised dogs and livestock and ran the family farm, most recently he had been thinking of adding pigs to the mix! Of all things in his life, family was most important to him. Through the years he always supported his children and family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday Aug 30th from 6-8pm at the Chapel at Klingner-Cope Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug 31st at 10am in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2244 E. Pythian, Springfield, MO.
