Irene Payne, 96, of Springfield, MO passed away on March 18, 2015 at Mercy Villa. She was born June 19, 1918 in Red Top, Missouri to Lawrence and Mallie Potter. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Jack Payne. She is survived by her daughter and husband Nancy and Bob Gerhardy, grandchildren Jackie (Mike) Delaney, Craig Morton, Rodd (Joann) Gerhardy, Katie (Ryan) Jones and Jackie Gerhardy, great grandchildren Matthew and Ethan Delaney, Tabor and Emma Morton, Kyle, Zach, and Daytona Gerhardy and Emily Jones.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at Mercy Villa for their loving care of Irene in her last years. A visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Klingner-Cope at Midtown, 1635 N. Benton. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Family has requested you may make donations in Irene''s name to a charity of your choice.
