Obituary

Inez Fern Hicks, 83, of Dallas TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born in Miami County, Missouri on February 7, 1933 to Roy and Lillie Deshazer.
Inez married her best friend Charles H. Hicks on June 28, 1953. Charles was a Christian Church Minister, and Inez became very dedicated to the Lord''s work. She was a very supportive preacher''s wife, and a life long Christian. Inez and Charles shared a loving, happy marriage for 51 years until Charles passed away in November, 2004. She was a secretary in her early professional life. Inez was an accomplished free lance seamstress, and while she would never promote her skill, she always had more requests than she could handle. She would make everything from simple clothes to Cheerleading outfits, wedding dresses, formal dresses, and even drapes. Her outgoing personality, would make for lifelong friendships. Inez would even assist, several elderly people in their homes. In the more recent years, Inez lived in an independent senior apartment in Dallas. Most people in her building would call on her for help, so Inez would drive them to doctor''s appointments, the drug store, or even the grocery store. Church was always a priority, so she always drove her neighbors to Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Lawrence Deshazer, her sister Donna Sue, and the love of her life Charles.
She is survived by her remaining sister Eva Irene, and 3 sons; Stephen Hayden, Thomas Roy (Pam), and Mark Alan, Seven grandchildren; Robyn Shaffer, Christopher Hayden Hicks, Sarah Gano (Brian), Alyssa Spencer (Bobby), Laura Hicks, Timothy Hicks, and Catherine Hicks. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren.
