Hunter Bennett Highfill, 90, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was born on Tuesday, June 6, 1933 in Springfield, MO to Georgia and Ernie Highfill.

Hunter graduated from Fair Grove High School where he played basketball and baseball. He married his high school sweetheart Joan Booth and to this union three children were born. They loved to travel and celebrated 64 years together until her passing in 2019. Hunter worked on a farm in his early years and retired as an operating engineer with Master & Jackson Paving Company. He was a Baptist and loved antiques and bird watching, especially Martins.

Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Sherry Ann Highfill, one brother Bill and one sister Virginia Madden.

He is survived by his two children Linda Bridges of Brookline, MO and Steve Highfill (wife Linda) of Springfield, MO, three grandchildren Reggie Bridges, Amanda Maher (husband Zach) of Ozark, MO and Todd Highfill of Springfield, MO, one sister Mary Bratcher of Springfield, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802. Online condolences can be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
