Homer "JR" W. Stogsdill, age 89, passed away on April 17, 2015, in Springfield, MO. He was born on November 26, 1925 to Homer Randolph and Alma (Alexander) Stogsdill in Newburg, MO.

Homer worked for the railroad 38 years, after retiring he worked for Fantastic Caverns for 20 years and was involved with little league as an umpire. Homer was a mason and enjoyed ball games, bowling and had a love for collecting Hobby Trains.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Homer is survived by his dearly loved wife of 71 years, Dorene; 3 sons Ralph, David and Greg Stogsdill; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 3 sisters; 1 brother and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6-8 P.M., Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. Division St., Springfield, Missouri with a service to be held on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 2 P.M. burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
