Herschel Glen Hubbard, 98, of Ozark passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born July 18, 1924 in rural Webster County to Arthur and Lena (Farr) Hubbard. Herschel married Artie Helms April 25, 1943 by a Justice of the Peace. Artie passed away in 1997 celebrating 54 years together.

Herschel owned a brake shop for many years. He also was a carrier for the Springfield News-Leader and retired after many years of service. Herschel was a long time Cardinals fan. He enjoyed coaching men and women's fast pitch soft ball and spending time with family and friends.

Herschel is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Artie; two daughters Brenda Stover and Jill Hubbard; three brothers; four sisters; and a dear friend Maxine Bossing.

Herschel is survived by two sons Richard Hubbard and wife Jan of Ozark and Ron Hubbard and his wife Peggy of Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law Kay Langley; close friends Lyndall and Marilyn Bossing, Diane and Bob Patton of Texas; 10 grandkids; 20 great-grandkids and three great-great-grandkids.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home Chapel at Rivermonte, Springfield. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
