IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry George
Mohr, Iii
December 11, 1934 – September 6, 2019
Henry George Mohr III (Hank) of Nixa, MO passed away on September 6, 2019 in Springfield, MO at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Henry Jr. and Nettie Mohr of El Paso, TX.
Hank was born December 11, 1934 in El Paso, TX. Growing up as a child he helped his dad along with his brother run the Mohr Hardware store. During high school the family relocated to Los Angeles where they continued the family business.
Following high school Hank attended college and acquired his engineering degree. In the process he became a business owner of the family business and later joined the United States Navy.
Hank married Elizabeth Mary Flood on June 14, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they had 4 children; 2 sons and 2 daughters. Hank then had the opportunity to move the family to Carthage, MO in 1977 where he worked as an engineer for Leggett & Platt for several years.
Hank took pride in his work, which included, most importantly working on his patent projects. He was a food connoisseur/ health nut who had to have his olive oil daily. Hank had a passion for dogs and treasured his several new cars that he had purchased throughout his life. He enjoyed reading, listening to music and was a computer guru. His best-kept secret was that he was an amazing letter writer to his leading ladies: his wife, his daughters and his granddaughter. When we couldn't find Hank (pops) he was hidden in his machine shop working away. Hank was a man of few words, but when he spoke he was very humorous and always left an impression.
Hank is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth Mohr, 2008 of Springfield, MO, along with his sister, Margaret Mohr, 1968 of Los Angeles, CA.
He is survived by his brother: Chris Mohr, Clear Lake, CA along with a niece and nephew.
