Helen Ola Wood, passed from this life to meet the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born in Dallas County, MO on January 12, 1920 to James and Lucy (Harmon) McMurray.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her former husband of 37 years, Roy E. Wood; son-in-law, Laverne McDonald; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Wood (wife Linda); her daughter, Judy P. (McDonald) Simmerman (husband Junior); son, Roy Wood (wife Ruth); her grandson, Matt Wood; grandchildren on the Simmerman side: James Simmerman, Regina Barfield, Daniel Simmerman and Melanie Guinn; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.

Helen was a long-time member of West Division Street Baptist Church. Pastor Hoffman will officiate at her service.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. St. Hwy EE (west Division), Springfield, MO with services to follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens following the service.
