Helen I. Mitchell, 91 of Springfield, passed away on October 7, 2013. She was born on February 17, 1922 in Lawrenceburg, MO to Voisy Mynatt and Mary Lou Pansey Grotz.

She enjoyed NASCAR and loved her pets. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Mitchell; parents; sister, Anna Lee Hagler; brothers, Onas Mynatt and Dossie Mynatt.

Helen is survived by her son, Loren R. Goss and wife Judy of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Mary E. Brown of Springfield; sister, Betty Jenkins of Belton, MO; 3 grandchildren, Annette Reser of Springfield, Lee Brown of Fordland, MO and Melissa Roe and husband Jeff of Kansas City, MO; 3 great-grandchildren, Cody Reser and Megan Chism of Springfield, MO and one on the way; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Sara Chism and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. A service will be on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
