Helen Mingus, 89, of Strafford, MO went home to be with her Lord on March 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28, 1929 in Elk Springs, MO to Claude and Emma (Porter) Hoskins. She was one of 7 children.

She married Charles Mingus on September 7, 1947. To this union they were blessed with 2 children, Charles and Judith and 2 babies born still. Helen was an excellent seamstress, quilter and cook. She was known to be quite the jokester and was rather feisty.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years, Charles, daughter; Judith, 2 babies born still, great-grandson; Gage, a great grandson who was also born still, and 2 brothers.

Left to mourn her passing is her son; Charles and wife Dianne, grandchildren; David Coble, Anjuni Mingus, Charles A. Mingus, Mike Coble, Sarah Lombardi and Rachel Hayden. 8 great grandchildren, and siblings Robert. Thelma, Steve and Dorothy as well as a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.
