Heather Hong Horsch, age 60, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2023
in Springfield, MO. Heather was born Thursday, March 28, 1963 in Meng ZI, Yunnan, China,
to Bao Ying Xu and Ji Xiang Yong.
Heather grew up in China and attended college where she learned to teach English.
When she was in her 20's, she moved to the United States to further her education by
attending Central Bible College, Springfield, MO. She taught English and worked as a
translator in the United States. She also opened a Chinese restaurant which she later
sold to focus on raising her three boys. Heather was preceded in death by her parents
and a sister, Lan Yang.
Heather is survived by her three sons, Micah (Abagail), Abel and Caleb, and a
wonderful grandson, Finley. Heather is also survived by her fiancé Wesley Brown.
According to Wesley, "Heather loved her three boys and was very proud of their many
accomplishments. She had a special love for her daughter in law, Abigail and adored
her grandson Finley. Heather would schedule movies, concerts, plays, theaters and
Branson Shows that kept us going all the time. She loved my class reunions on the
Current River at Big Springs and connected with everyone she came in contact with.
She loved Jesus and worshiped the Lord daily. All my family and friends loved her as
she made everyone feel special. She was a gift from God to those who knew her."
Heather was heavily involved in helping the Chinese-American community in
Springfield. She loved being around children and caring for them in the church nursery.
Heather was a faithful member of Central Assembly, Springfield, MO.
A memorial service to honor Heather will be held on Friday, October 27 at 5:00 PM at
Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Rd., Springfield,
MO 65804 with Rev. Don Tucker and Rev. David He officiating.
