Mrs. Hazel Pauline Mason age, 100 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Springfield, Missouri, at Maranatha Village Long Term Care surrounded by family.
Pauline is survived by daughters, Pam Britton and Nilajo Corwin and husband, Raymond Corwin and two grandchildren, Rene' Britton and Kelly Greenwood; sister-in-law, Geneva Kuhn.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 18, 2025 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5234 W. State Hwy EE. Springfield, MO 65802 with Pastor John Bingham officiating.
Hazel Pauline Mason, born April 23, 1924 in Darlington, MO to mother, Fannie A Getz and father, Weaver F Getz, half brother to Merlin Kuhn and half sister, Nola L Kuhn. At the age of two, her mother transplanted Pauline, Merlin and Nola to the Ozarks region of Missouri. All four of them worked hard to pull through the Great Depression and Dust Bowl drawing them even closer together.
Pauline lived her life in and around the Springfield, MO area beginning in Elwood and Nichols Junction schools. Pauline began working at age 15 dry cleaning army soldiers' clothes and later as a seamstress making denim overalls and suntan pants for the soldiers of Ft. Leonard Wood.
Pauline and Paul Mason met at the beginning of her 17th year and later married at age 19 in October of 1943 and were together fifty nine and one half years until Paul's passing in 2003. Pauline brought their first daughter Pam into the world in 1944 while Paul served 2 years for the United States Navy during WWII and later their second daughter Nilajo in 1947. Each daughter brought one grandchild into the family, Rene' and Kelly.
Pauline lived the remainder of her years in Springfield, MO close to family until her passing.
