Hazel Loveland, 83, of Springfield, MO, transitioned into the arms of the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the family's home. She was born on Saturday, March 31, 1934 to John Aten and Lillian (Brooks) Aten in Hutchinson, KS.
Hazel was lovingly called "Mom" and "Granny" by those who knew her as well as the "Pepsi Lady" and "Cookie Lady" at Halloween. She graduated from Springfield Senior High School in 1952. In 1954, she married Cleo Aaron (Junior) Loveland. They welcomed two children to their lives, Laura Louise in 1962, and Bruce Allen in 1965 (on his Father's Birthday.) After their divorce in 1969 she devoted her life to her children. Her employment coincided with her two passions, cooking and sewing. She worked at Taylor's Drive In during her teens. She later worked at Black Mfg, Calverts Mfg as a seamstress and Nu Way Cleaners as a presser. Her last place of employment was at Kraft as a cook where she was nicknamed "Shorty".
She enjoyed cooking, listening to Elvis, bowling, watching basketball, Branson shows, gardening, traveling, camping and dirt track racing. She loved to talk and reminisce with everyone and was known for her "tell it like it is" attitude.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joyce Randolph and her brother Richard Aten.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Printy (husband Kenny), her son Bruce Loveland (wife Erin), three cherished granddaughters Amber McCann (fiancé Gary Farish), McKenna Loveland and Avri Loveland and numerous friends, family and neighbors.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 1-2 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802, with funeral services to follow at 2 pm. A burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
