Obituary

Hatsue Kakinuma, 90, of Springfield, MO passed away in peace and calm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born on Tuesday, November 3, 1931 in Tokyo, Japan as one of three daughters and two sons to Katsu Okada and Kihei Seki.

Hatsue had a love for flowers and animals which she pampered and cuddled at every turn. She took great interest in Japanese Classical dancing and great pleasure in the Japanese sport of Sumo Wrestling. Hatsue loved Japanese Kirin Itch ban beer and sushi. She spent her entire life in Japan where she owned and operated a restaurant, later to own and operate a concrete manufacturing company until she retired. Hatsue moved to the United States on April 15th, 2016, where she spent her remaining days loving and living with her daughter and son-in-law Noriko &Steve Makoski.

She was a loving wife to Kiyoshi Kakinuma who preceded her in death.

Hatsue is survived by her daughter Noriko Makoski (husband Steve), two grandsons Stephen Makoski Jr. and Andrew Makoski, three great-grandchildren Madelynn, Mason and Quinn Makoski and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
