Harold G. Oberkrom. 91 of Rogersville, Mo. passed on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Springfield, Mo.
Harold Gene Oberkrom was born on Thursday, December 15, 1932, in Linn Mo. to Lee Charles and Leona (Pinet) Oberkrom. Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in Korea, Vietnam, France and Germany and several Post in the U.S. During his time in France, he married Louise. Harold retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class after twenty-one years of service. He stayed very active and took on many challenges and chances in business. You could say he was an entrepreneur. He and Louise owned and operated several restaurants in Springfield, Mo. They and their son, Ron also owned a mobile home park in Rogersville, Mo.
Harold loved the outdoors, being in the country and collecting tractors. You could find him riding his tractors through his properties or sitting outside enjoying the fresh air on most sunny days. He also loved watching and reading westerns.
He is survived by six children, Patricia Gorden and husband, Brad, Guy Oberkrom and wife, Kathy, Mark Oberkrom and wife, Tina, Robert Oberkrom and wife, Dahlia, Ron Oberkrom, Jerry Oberkrom and wife, Danita; nine grandchildren, Tyhanna, Brandi and Toby Oberkrom, Tabatha Curry, Chrystal Robinson, Carrie Woobank, Patricia Howell, Britni Chatham and Reanna Campbell and many great-grandchildren.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; grandson, Sean Oberkrom and ten siblings.
Graveside service with full military honors will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday, June 7, 2024, in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery: 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, Mo. 65802 with Pastor Ray Brinson officiating. The family will have a private Celebration of Life after the graveside service.
