Harold Dean Garrison (Chief ), 82 of Springfield, Missouri passed away Monday January 25, 2021 at the Neighborhoods at Quail Creek. He was born March 21, 1938 to Kelly and Virginia Garrison in Newton County, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Karen, his children Brent Garrison & family, Stephanie Jernigan & family, and Antonio Rivero & family. Stepchildren Randy Harman & family, Ron Harman & family, and Russ Harman & family, sisters Donna Howerton and Barbara Perryman. He was preceded in death by his brother John Garrison. He graduated from Wheaton High School and SMSU and served in the Army Reserve.
He became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Kings Way United Methodist. He was very active in the community and served on various committees & boards, including Willard City Council, Willard School Board, Missouri Grocers Association, and UMB Bank Board. He was also instrumental in bringing the Price Cutter Charity Championship to Springfield. He was a leader in the food industry and owner of Premier Marketing, the largest food brokerage firm in southwest Missouri. He loved his family dearly, and his most enjoyable moments were watching his many grandchildren grow up and seeing them excel in their various activities. They loved him dearly and will cherish the many memories and life lessons he shared with them.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at the Neighborhoods at Quail Creek. Under the care of Klinger Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 2 at 2:00 at White Chapel Cemetery, 5284 W State Hwy EE, Springfield, Missouri with Scott Killingsworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.
