Gordon Pyatt passed from this life on June 2, 2016 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where he has lived for the past 60 plus years. He was born in Niangua, Missouri on July 6, 1948 and spent the first seven years of his life on a small dairy farm between Marshfield and Hartville, Missouri just off 38 highway. His folks, with brother Ed, moved him to Springfield where they lived in a small house just east of the Glen Isle shopping center. Gordon was soon introduced to sports by his Dad and played baseball, football and basketball through his high school years where he graduated from Glendale High School in 1966. He spent a couple of years at Crowder Jr. College in Neosho, Missouri where he also played baseball for the Roughriders. Gordon''s first job was at the Jim Blount Texaco service station on the corner of Sunshine and Ingram Mill Road. His first car was a yellow 1966 Chevrolet Malibu with a 327 cubic inch engine and, of course, a 4-speed on the floor with bucket seats. Gordon spent some time on active duty with the United States Marine Corps in the late 1960''s and also served several more years in the reserve unit in Springfield. Gordon sold vacuum sweepers at one of the department stores in Springfield at the Battlefield Mall, before working for almost 30 years for Ford Motor Credit where he was the collection manager. After retirement from Ford, Gordon continued working for the 166 Auto Auction on West Sunshine in Springfield. Gordon developed a love for golf and enjoyed playing with his buddies at the Millwood course in Springfield.

Gordon was one of those lucky guys who was fortunate to marry his high school sweetheart, Victoria Sue Bellman. To this union was born one son, Christopher Michael Pyatt, who currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the passing of Victoria Sue, Gordon married Pamela Sue Yeamens and to this union, there were no children.

Gordon loved his family and enjoyed being with and watching Chris become the man that he is today. He was very proud of Chris and his accomplishments on the football field where he was an all conference place kicker for 3 years with the Central Missouri State Mules in the MIAA of the early 90''s. And, the time that they have spent together was valuable to them both.

Gordon has testified that he knew that the Lord Jesus Christ had paid his sin debt by dying on the cross for him and because of that, he has the promise of eternity in heaven with the Lord.

Gordon had things in order. He had written down his plans to be carried out upon his passing and his financial house was in order. One of his final statements to Chris was that if you are reading this, I am in heaven with Mom and Dad and your Mom! Hallelujah!

Gordon is survived by his son, Chris. Brother Ed and wife Barbara Pyatt and family, and sister Bev Robinson and family along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Springfield Bible Church, 2145 E. Grand St. Springfield, MO 65804. The funeral service will be at the church on Wednesday, June 8th at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, 4500 S. Lone Pine. Family has requested donations be made in Gordon's name to the Bible Baptist Church Youth Building Fund, PO Box 361, Buffalo, MO 65622.
