Gladys Marie Redd, 98, of Springfield, MO passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. She was born on January 12, 1923 in Springfield, MO to Octavia and Robert Abernathy.

Early in life Gladys accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. She was a member of Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church and then later joined the Dale Street UMC in Springfield, MO. Gladys worked for many years at Graham's Barbeque and was active in the community as a member of the Citizen Advisory Board from November 1977 to May 1982. First and foremost she was a dedicated mother. Her words she wanted us to remember as a family were, "I love you more".

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents, five children Joyce, Kay, Butch, James and Sue, one sister Mildren and five brothers Bud, Richard, Hoover, Billy and Keith.

She leaves to mourn, her son Michael Kent, daughters Dewan and Terry, 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Please join in celebrating her life Saturday, July 24 ^th wake at 10:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO.
