Gertrude J. Freeman, 95, (our Memaw) of Springfield, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She was born in Springfield, MO on January 7, 1921 to William W. and Blanche Miller.
Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Olman of 71 years, her daughter Loyce, granddaughters; Kelly and Kevinee, and grandsons; Brian and Johnny.
She is survived by her sons; Darrell and wife Barbara, Hollis, Doyle, Daughters; Mona Nimmo, Joan Pursell and husband Jerry, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
With so little, Memaw gave so much to all of her family and friends with a giving heart, loving spirit, kindness, and total forgiveness, as a living testimony to Proverbs 31: 10-31.
Gertrude''s family would like to give a special thank you to Strafford Care Center''s Staff, Preferred Hospice''s Staff, and her closest Christian friend Helen Miles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 1-2pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Midtown Chapel. Services will immediately follow in Midtown Chapel at 2pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn North Cemetery after services.
