George Varghese, 59, went to be with the Lord on September 6th, 2013 with his family by his side.

George was born in Kottayam, Kerala on June 14th, 1954 to P.V Varghese and Mariamma. George''s father passed away on September 4th, 2012. George''s mother lives in Kerala.

At the young age of 20, George received salvation at a revival meeting. But the trajectory of his life changed forever when he became gravely ill with malaria. While in bed with a raging fever and fear of death, he began to have a vision. In his vision he saw a very long train with several compartments. In each compartment he saw several saints (Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter and many others) and believers. Suddenly, he saw the train leave the ground and go up into heaven. While the train took-off, he saw himself, sitting in the last compartment. When he woke up from the dream, he realized he was going to heaven. It was also then that he realized he had a new purpose of being saved. He jumped out of bed praising God and over time, was miraculously healed. George knew that God was calling him into full time ministry and till the end, remained loyal to this call.

George Varghese married Suby Koshy on September 7th, 1980. He was blessed with two children. George is survived by his wife Suby, children Lasha and Liban, son-in-law Rufus, grandchildren Zoe and Jared, mother Mariamma, brother Kunjumon, sister Bincy, and brother-in-law Renchi.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00am with the service following at 11:00 am in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
