Obituary

George was born November 16, 1928 in Dade County, Missouri to Noble and Callie Saffeels. He went to his Heavenly Father on April 9, 2020.

He is survived by Joanne, his wife of 64 years, three children, Gail and husband Don, of Oklahoma City, Mark and wife Sherry of Republic, Dave of Springfield, and special friends Jeff and Sheila Shaffer of Springfield. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great grand children, and one great, great grandchild.

He worked at Mono Manufacturing for several years, then for General Electric. He retired at the age of 80, after the company changed their name to Regal-Beloit

George was a long time member of Walnut Street Christian Church. He and Joanne volunteered at Crosslines through the church for 39 years. He was in the U.S. Army, and served in the Korean War. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind hearted man. Because of the current situation there will be private graveside services soon, then at a later date there will be a public Celebration of Life at Walnut Street Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Crosslines of Springfield. Special thanks to the staff at Jordan Creek Rehab Center. Arrangements are by Klingner Cope at White Chapel Funeral Home.
