Obituary

George Arthur Lee "Art" Garrison was born on June 8, 1950 to George Raymond and Velma (Miller) Garrison in Springfield, Missouri. On Thursday, May 24 th 2018, at the age of 67, George went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving wife and children after fighting a hard 3 year battle with cancer.

He worked for Advanced Plating in Republic, Mo for 25 years until it closed, then in 1995 began working for McQueary Brother's Drug Co. for 13 years until it closed its doors in October 2008 and he decided to "retire" to fixing up anyone and everyone's lawn mowers and helping anyone who needed anything fixed or repaired.

George is survived by his wife Jo Ellen (Sartin) Garrison; son, Derk Garrison and wife Rachel, son, Heath Garrison and wife Aimee, daughter, Azealia Garrison and son, Keygan Garrison. He is also survived by his siblings, Norma Mae Hughes, Carroll Garrison, Jo Brixey, Betty Gambriel and husband Wesley, Liz Williams, Shirley Curbow and husband Roy, Barbara Holmes, Sue Long, Darlene Mead and husband Max and Richard "Butch" Garrison and wife Linda; 8 grandkids; 2 great grandkids and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant sisters and one infant brother; 2 brothers, Gene and Dan Garrison; sister, Maxine Simmons; 6 brother-in-laws, Fred Hughes, Stephen Sewell, Charles Long, Jerry Brixey, Kermit Holmes and Brinkley Williams and one sister-in-law, Darlene Garrison.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 11:00-1:00pm at Crossway Baptist Church (2900 N. Barnes Ave Springfield, MO) with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens (5234 W. State Hwy EE Springfield)
