Gary Wayne Woodall, 70, departed this life on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on Thursday, September 9, 1948 in Springfield, MO to Alberta Louise Satterfield and Forest Wayne Woodall.

He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. Gary's love for cars and racing began at a very early age as he could be found racing bicycles in the field. He also liked spending time building model cars. In his teenage years Gary loved going to Chitwoods Gas Station and hanging out with his friends. In 1966, he graduated from Parkview High School. He then attended SMSU for a brief time before enlisting in the military. Gary served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971. He was stationed at Midway Island and was onboard the USS Meyerkord FF-1058 from 1970-1971. Gary had several race cars through the years and raced at many of the local tracks around mid Missouri. He cherished his time spent announcing at Dallas County and Midway Speedways. Gary also enjoyed lottery tickets, playing BINGO, going to the casino, western and action movies, his garden, making cat stands and of course, spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents and his Aunt Rosie.

Gary is survived by his four children Kevin, Kacey Maguire (husband Mike), Kristen and Quenton, seven grandchildren Nick, Kohl, Alexa, Adison, Alyssa, Lelan and Austin, his loving girlfriend Debbie, three sisters Sandy Meyer (husband Hank), Cheri Terry and Candy Smart, his fur kids Chloe and Midnight and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and racing buddies.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6-8pm at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy. EE, Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services to be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10am. Full military honors for Gary will be conducted immediately following services.
