Gary Joe Loveland (Joey to the family) was born October 16, 1942 at Burge Hospital and died peacefully in his sleep on October 18, 2015 due to complications of dementia. He was the only child of Vernie Paul and Mary Lou (Douglas) Loveland. He is survived by his children Tracy (Stan) Woodall and Scott (Kerri) Loveland of Springfield. He also has 4 grandchildren, Erika and Emily Woodall, Bailey Hurd and Greyson Loveland. Also surviving is the mother of his children Nyla West and ex-wife Michelle Wheeler. Lastly, he is survived by his canine kids Jazzy and Bailey.

As a boy he spent his summers staying with his grandparents in Tupelo, MS where he learned to fish and play fastpitch softball. He enjoyed visiting Mississippi as an adult and spending time with the Cother cousins with whom he had a very special bond. He graduated from Central H.S. in 1960 and had lifelong friends Dennis Mitchell, Gary Comer, Bobby Goodwin and Vernon Delcour that he stayed close with.

Daddy loved to attend ballgames. Whether it was football, basketball, baseball or softball, he was always at Scott''s games. He was the designated driver of the "Bourbon Assault Vehicle" taking teams to softball tournaments. He enjoyed being around the players and being one of our teammates. Later in life he took up golf and enjoyed playing with his friends in the Pomme De Terre area.

A barber by trade, he opened Glenstone Square Hairstyles for Men in the late 60s before moving to the lake. Before his health declined, he had lived in the Pittsburg/Hermitage, MO area having many friends and clients at the barber shop. He was an avid fisherman and loved Pomme De Terre Lake.

The family would like to thank the owners and staff at Century Pines Assisted Living in Ozark and Tablerock Healthcare in Kimberling City for their love and concern for Daddy in the past two years.

A graveside service will be performed at 10:00am Friday, October 23, 2015 at Greenlawn Cemetery North. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Castaway Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) at PO Box 215, Aurora, MO 65605 because Daddy loved dogs so.
