Garth G. Godden, 38 passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2013 in New Orleans. He was born June 23, 1975 in New South Wales, Australia. Garth moved to the United States almost 13 years ago. He loved playing tennis, soccer and really loved Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and Tiger Woods. Garth was a Master Electrician and a Salesman in various industries. Garth never knew a stranger; he lit up every room he walked into but most importantly he loved his three girls more than life itself.
He was preceded in death by his mother Glenda Marilyn Cook, step-mother Jill Smith, an aunt Sandra McElwaine and grandfather James Godden. Garth is survived by his father Gary, wife Rachael, daughters Pli and Harlo, sisters Sharron Price and Moosheeba Ellicott, brothers Shayne Price, Karl Godden and Ross Ellicott; and aunt, Katrina Oversby.
We would also like to recognize the following family members who helped shape Garth into the man he became; aunt and uncle, Joanie and Tony Sargent; aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Andrew Thor; cousins, Rene Cameron, Gary Sargent, Anthony Sargent and Wendy Bond. In addition, his American family JoDee and Wendell Olson, Stephanie, Cody and Gavin Allen.
Memorial Donations may be made in honor of Garth to the Godden Memorial Fund at any Springfield, MO area Guaranty Bank location.
A visitation will be held Thursday October 17, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel. The funeral service will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel.
