IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail Ann
Langdon
August 12, 1938 – February 24, 2022
Gail Ann Langdon passed away on Thursday, February 24th at the age of 83. Gail is preceded in death by her mother and father, Marie and Charles Brainard, and her husband of 52 years, Robert Ellis Langdon.
Gail is survived by her 6 children: Bob and Monika Langdon of Elmhurst, IL; Dawn and Keith White of Ozark, MO; Chuck and Jackie Langdon of Springfield, MO; Barry and Connie Langdon of Springfield, MO; Mary and Jay Rogers of Cassville, MO; and Marie and Dale Batson of Nixa, MO. Also surviving Gail are her two sisters, Pam Hrajnoha and Bonnie Rapp, 2 nephews, 5 nieces, her 16 grandchildren, and her 22 great-grandchildren.
Gail and her husband Bob met at Ripon College in 1957, and they married on October 4 th , 1958. They lived with their family in the Chicago area until 1977, when they purchased Fish 'n' Fun Resort in Shell Knob, MO. After many years of bringing joy to visitors of Table Rock Lake, Bob and Gail relocated to Springfield, MO, where they remained until each of them passed.
Gail was a loyal parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, MO, where she also volunteered her time preparing meals, providing transportation, delivering communion, and serving as a comforting friend for all church members in need.
Gail was an avid gardener who tended to beautiful plants, both indoor and outdoor, for many years; more importantly, Gail would happily offer counsel to all those who sought to follow in her skilled footsteps. Gail's greatest joy, though, was visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Though she was vastly outnumbered by all those who called her "Mom" or "Grandma", she spent her life dedicated to spending quality time with each family member, so all were blessed with her boundless and unconditional love.
Services honoring Gail's life will take place on Monday, March 7 th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, MO; visitation will begin at 10am with mass to follow at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, Gail requested donations be made to the St. Elizabeth food pantry, organized by their St. Vincent de Paul Society. Monetary donations can be made via SEAS's website, selecting "Online Giving", and designating St. Vincent de Paul as the recipient of your gift. Food donations can be delivered to parish offices. Floral arrangements should be delivered to Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 2200 W. Republic Road, Springfield, MO 65807.
