Freeman Rand, 85, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Springfield, MO. He was born to Lettie J. Cantrell and Charles E. Rand on March 8, 1929, in Elizabeth, AR.

In June of 1951, Freeman married Ethel Hopper and to this union 2 children were born. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage until her passing in 1994. On December 28, 1995, he married Jewell Fuller in Eureka Springs, AR.

Freeman enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and traveling. He loved building bridges and spending time with family and friends. He volunteered for Cox Hospital and The Wonders of Wildlife Museum.

Preceding him in death are his parents; first wife, Ethel; two sisters, Gladys and Glenda; one brother, Max; and stepson, Jim Weber.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell; two children, Phyllis Jan Van Someren and Mike (Vicky) Rand, both of Springfield, MO; stepdaughter, Karen Westfall; two sisters, Georgia Goniwich of MI and Opal Kelly of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 1pm, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Services will begin at 2pm, Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the chapel. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.

Family is requesting memorial donations be made to American Diabetes or Alzheimer''s Associations.
