IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Freda Ann
Hall
March 16, 1934 – November 25, 2023
Freda Ann "Shockley"Hall, 89 of Galloway entered into eternal peace on Saturday, November 25, 2023.Freda was born to John and Laura Shockley, on Friday, March 16, 1934, in Galloway, Mo.
Freda had two brothers Earl and Floyd Shockley and one sister Mary Ellen Shockley. Freda was of the Christian faith. Freda attended elementary school in Galloway, although she always said she never really liked school because it never really could keep her attention, and she was too boy crazy to sit through class. She still graduated from Rogersville High School in 1952 despite her sometimes selective attendance.
On May 30, 1952 Freda married Jim Hall of Springfield. Jim and Freda snuck off to Arkansas to get married because Jim was only 17. The justice of the peace called Jim's father to get permission because he knew that he wasn't 18 as he had said he was. During their life together they had two sons, JB and Johnny Hall, whom she loves with all her heart. Freda worked outside of the home in the cafeteria at the Walt Disney schools. There wasn't a backroad in Springfield that she didn't know to avoid traffic, or a garage sale she hadn't been to.
Freda is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; her husband and both of her sons.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen; three grandsons, Shane Hall, Dustin Hall, and Jason Hall; two granddaughters, Shonna Maples and husband, Donnie, Jama Berry and fiancé, Todd Wilbanks; great-granddaughters, Kursten and husband, Brad Hamm, Alyx and husband, James Russell, Valerie Hall and Graycee Maples; great-grandsons, Westley Suter, and wife, Taylor, Hayden Hall, and Justin and Brett Hall; great great-grandchildren or as she called them the "kiddies" Colt, Cord, and Coe Hamm, Miss Gentry June Suter, and Blake Russell. and one great great-grandson Waylon James on the way. She's also survived by two special daughter-in-law's who even after marriages dissolved the bond between them and Freda never did. Freda loved them just like her own. She knew that they were there for her and she for them Kay Doubek, and Vicky Hall. She's also survived by sisters in law and brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Freda was the matriarch of the family, and all who met knew she was the absolute, most giving selfless, loving woman that God ever put into their lives. We will miss her every day, but she was called home, where she longed to be reunited with her boys. She loved and missed them so much. God's plans can be hard to see sometimes, but Freda Ann Hall's love and sacrifice never wavered for the ones she loved.
