Frankie Vivian Miekley, 86, beloved wife, mother, Ganni, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. She was born on Tuesday, July 30, 1940 in Callahan, Florida, to Vaudy Lee and Ruby Lee Register.

Frankie married the love of her life, Don Wayne Miekley, on July 6, 1958, while Don was serving in the military in Valdosta, Georgia. Together, they eventually made their home in Springfield, Missouri, where they raised their son, Dwayne Don Miekley.

Frankie was a woman who never knew a stranger. With her Southern hospitality, generous heart, quick wit, and unmistakable personality, she had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Taking care of others was simply who she was. She was usually the last one to sit down at the table and the first to get up to clear it.

She loved the Lord, loved adventure and knew how to have a good time. Whether riding her bike with Don, traveling with friends and family, enjoying a cruise with her girlfriends, or making memories with her grandchildren, Frankie lived life with a wonderful sense of humor and a full heart.

Her greatest joy was her family. She adored her son, Dwayne, his wife, Gretchen, and her grandchildren, Madison and Weston. But Frankie’s definition of family went far beyond those related by blood. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own, cherished her cousins, and welcomed countless friends, neighbors, and children into her heart and home. So many people were fortunate enough to be loved by Frankie and, in turn, became part of her family.

But of all the titles she carried, “Ganni” was the one she treasured most. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and to them, she truly hung the moon. The memories, laughter, love, and lessons she gave them will remain with them always.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, two sisters Ella Lee Stewart of Valdosta, Georgia and Audrey Redding of Savannah, Georgia and many other beloved family members and friends.

We were blessed beyond measure to have Frankie in our lives. We will miss her laughter, her stories, her humor, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged.

We know she has gone home to be with those who passed before her, and we can only imagine they were waiting with open arms—probably wondering what took her so long.

Frankie’s love and spirit will live on in the many lives she touched and in the family she built along the way.

A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with graveside services to follow at 10 AM. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks.
