Ford Fullington White, 90, of Springfield, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, NY on Wednesday, June 19, 1929 to Evelyn Bowers and Ford F. White, Sr.
Ford was a paratrooper in the 11 th Airborne division and attended Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelors degree in agriculture. He worked as an insurance adjuster at Auto Owners for much of his working life and he loved his work. A great lover of music, he played the trumpet in his youth. Ford had been a member of the VFW and the Shriners. Above all, he was well-respected, kind, and loved to talk with people and laugh.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Helen (Thorpe) White, his parents, one daughter Brenda and two brothers Dan and Norman White.
Ford is survived by one son Darin White, one grandson Jamie Holdren (partner Kim), one great-grandson Byron Holdren and his step-family Patricia and Frank Parker, Toni Parker-Mayab, Tracey Parker and Caitlin Burdette.
A visitation will be held form 10-11 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802, with funeral services to follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens after services.
