Fern Katherine Stotts Chatterton, the daughter of Allen and Gertrude (Simmons) stotts, was born on May 30, 1925 in Hutchison, KS and died September 1, 2011 in State College, PA. She grew up in Stotts City, Mo and graduated from the Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, MO, beoming a registered nurse. She practiced nursing for 38 years. thousand of her former patients are grateful for the very high standard of care she provided them.Fern was preced in death by her husband, David Paul Chatterton. She is survived by her son, Raymond Edward and his wife Pauline Ann. She also loved her three grandsons, Paul Allen, robert Emerson and Douglas Howard, her granddaughter-in-law Ann Marie, her great granddaughter, Zoe Rose and her great grandson Zachard Edward.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., September 9th at Campbell United Methodist church. Burial will be at Moore Cemetery in Stotts City at 2 p.m. on the same day. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made in her memory to the Make -a-Wish Foundation or the Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, MO.
