Evelyn B. Rutledge, 84 of Springfield was born on March 17, 1927 in Elkhart, Kansas the last of six children born to Ernest and Elmina (Pate) Lavielle. She passed away on February 4, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don Rutledge.
Evelyn was an avid word puzzle solver, a seamstress, tought basic electricity for 4H, helper for Head Start near Ave, a member of Baptist Churches in Elkhart, KS and Ava, MO. She was a loving daughter and mother to four kids.
She is survived by her children, Patricia J. Smith, Donita J. DePreste, Susan A. Inman, all of Springfield, and Calvin E. Rutledge of Waverly, KS, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 10 AM at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
