Eugene Franklin Brooks passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015. He was born January 14, 1922, to Genetta Bates Brooks and Leonard E. Brooks, in Springfield, MO.

Eugene graduated from Springfield Senior High School in 1942.

He served in the Army during WWII in the 1000th Engineer Treadway Bridge Company
from 1943 to 1945 in Europe.

He worked forty years at Custom Trailers (now Polar).

He is survived by his children; Virginia Marie Long; Stephen Lee Brooks and his wife Debbie; Arthur Wayne Brooks; James Keith Brooks and his wife Beth; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma Wanda Brooks,
stepmother Jesse Zongker Brooks; stepbrother Junior Beasley; and son Edward Allen Brooks.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 4th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home-Midtown with the funeral services at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Family has requested memorial donations be made in Eugene''s name to the American Heart Association.
