Erma P. (White) Salyer, 91, went peacefully to her Lord on November 4, 2011. She was born in Gray, Kentucky on December 26, 1919 to Ora B. and Bertha L. White.
After graduating from Springfield Senior High in 1938, Erma married Jack B. Burgess in 1940 and to this union 2 daughters were born, Jennifer and Jeanette.Erma was an executive secretary retiring from Wil Fischer Distributing Co., and worked many years as a Mary Kay consultant. She married Charles A. Salyer in 1985 and was a member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church and a former member of G.F.W.C. Springfield Ladies Saturday club.
Erma was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Burgess and Charles Salyer and 1 daughter, Jeanette C. Dixon. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer R. McCullough; nephew, Morris Rothermel; niece, Shirley Brunson; grandson, Jason Dixon and granddaughter, Emily Dixon.
Jennifer would like to thank the "girls" at Arbors at Ravenwood and Jayme Duncan for all their love, compassion, support and excellent care given to her mother these last six years. Thanks also, to Preferred Hospice for their care and compassion given to Erma these last few months. Also, to Dr .Laura DenOuden and Dr. Keesag A. Baron, many thanks for the loving care over the years.
Graveside services will be at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, November 18, 2011 at 10:00am. Donations in Erma''s memory may be made to Hillcrest Presbyterian Church or charity of choice.
