Obituary

Emma Lou (Hutchison) Caples, 88, passed away peacefully in her home, near Rogersville, Missouri on Thursday, September 25th, 2025. She was born on December 26th, 1936, to Woodrow Wilson Hutchison and Elsie Louella (Freeman) Hutchison in the family home. She was the second of five daughters, all born  prior to their baby brother.  While attending Bono (AR) High School, Emma met her high school sweetheart, Charles Wayne Caples, whom she married a couple of months after their graduation in 1955.Soon thereafter, they moved to Detroit, Michigan, for better job opportunities.  Emma went to work for GMAC in Dearborn, MI.

In 1959, Emma gave birth to Sandra Dawn, then in 1964,  to Gregory Wayne. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother.   In January 1973, they moved their family to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to their families.  Emma worked at 3M for just over four years before getting a job with the local GMAC office. She was able to take an early retirement option in 1986. In May of 1996 they moved to Rogersville, Missouri, where they resided until her death on September 25, 2025.

She loved to travel, especially with her sisters, back in the 1980's. She was a collector of dolls and beautiful glass and porcelain items. She enjoyed reading and watching HGTV and True Crime shows.  But most of all, Emma loved her family, and would do anything for any of them.

Emma is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; daughter, Sandra Snyder (Tom) of Rogersville; son, Gregory Caples (Lisa Broderick) of Springfield; grandsons, Andrew Wayne Snyder (Emily Collins) of Nixa, Steven Craig  Snyder (Dana),  of Springfield,  and Colin Caples (Lindsey), of Springfield, MO and six great-grandchildren, Rylee, Christian, Jude, Tatum, Graham,  and Lena. She is also survived by one sister, Linda Simmons(James) of Batesville, Arkansas, many Caples in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of Friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother;  brother, Randy Hutchison and sisters, Ramona Shirley, Gypsy Rose Qualls, and Annabelle  Morris.
