Ellwyn Lyle Worley, Sr, age 94, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri, on 7 October 2018.

Ellwyn was born 3 December 1923, in Grenolo, Elk, Kansas.The son of Charles and Minnie Christina Erika Englund Worley.

He married Mardella "Mardi" Walker, 28 March 1942, in Olathe, Johnson, Kansas. She passed away 20 Feb 1980. He married Christine McCool in 19 November 1985 in Mississippi, she passed away 21 December 2016.

He was drafted in 1943, and was a Tech IV in Germany, where he was wounded and sent to O'Really hospital for surgery and recovery. He never let his disability slow him down, he didn't know he was supposed to.

After his discharge he started in the office of Patton Creamery, which became Tastemark and then became Foremost Dairies, where he became Comptroller.
He was President of NOMA, National Office Managers Association.

He attended Drury University and Draughons Business College.

Ellwyn was a member of Park Crest Baptist Church, Springfied, Missouri.

He was preceded by his parents, both wives, daughter, Janan and husband "Woody" Woodyard, son, Roger Reid Worley, and grandson, Roger Reid Worley II, 3 sisters and their husbands, and 5 brothers and their wives.

He is survived by son, E. Lyle Worley, Jr. and his wife Marsha, 6 grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Michael Sloan, Kevin Worley and his wife Brittany, Amy and her husband Ron Barker, Marci and her husband Brian Coleman, Chase Worley and John Worley, 20 great grandchildren, April Zachary, Heather Bova, Tiffany Baker, Chas Handy, Jack, Keaton, Reece and Nina Worley, Daniel and Josiah Barker, Lily Stephenson, Finley Coleman, Wyatt, Hannah, Gavin and Maverick Worley, 3 great great grandchildren, Eli Rankins, Christian Watts and Alaska Worley.

We would like to thank the  Missouri Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Missouri, not just in "C" neighborhood, but the entire staff, because they cared about him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W. State Highway EE Springfield, MO 65802). Funeral services will be on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with a burial to follow with full military honors in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
