Ellen May Stanton, 87, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 in New Brighton, MN. She was formerly from Springfield, MO.
Ellen loved being a pastors'' wife for over 50 years in the Assemblies of God Church and then United Methodist Church. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 12 years. She loved to do crossword & word seek puzzles, knitting & crochet, coloring graphic design books & looking at art books, Norman Rockwell was her favorite. She was very proud of being an identical red-headed Irish twin to her sister Alice, who were born on St. Patrick''s Day.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 60 years, David Stanton; her parents & 4 sisters.
She is survived by 3 children: David Paul (Candace) Stanton; Mary Ellen (Bill) Gitthens & Esther (Eric) Huyck. Grandchildren: Angela, Sharon, Billie Jo, Kirsten, Jonathan, David & Brock. Great-grandchildren: Melanie, Cassie, Tristan, Faith, Meghan, Shawn & Josiah; 1 brother & 5 sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, 2pm at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1500 S. Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO.
