Obituary

Ella May (Patton) Bryant

Ella passed away in St. Francis hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma after suffering a heart attack. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas on September 5, 1935, to Elbert and Alma Patton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Erma, her brothers Harold, Carl, Darrell and her husband, John. She is survived by a brother, Charles Patton of Springfield, Missouri, a daughter, Danna Ozbun of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a son, Gary Kellogg of Strafford, Missouri, 5 grandchildren (John Ozbun, Isaiah Kellogg, Jacob Kellogg, David Kellogg, and Joseph Kellogg) and 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was raised in the Springfield, Missouri area and graduated from Central High School in Springfield. She worked as a seamstress and was well known for her abilities, working for clothing stores in Springfield for many years. While living in Springfield she sang in Sweet Adelines, a large women's choir. After moving to Tulsa, she and her husband, John, owned and operated two clothing stores. She later did alterations for several clothing stores, then worked for a physician in Tulsa, Dr. Rollins, and other health care organizations. She continued to take freelance work doing alterations, even after she "retired". Ella also loved to cook and took cake decorating classes after which she made many special occasion cakes. She was well known for her sugar crusted pecans and her braided Christmas wreath pastries. She was often taking treats to work and other places for friends and acquaintances to enjoy.

Ella also loved to keep up with her family, always asking about what was going on in her children's lives and how the grandchildren and great grandchildren were doing.

Most of all, she loved her Savior, Jesus. She was a long time follower of Jesus, spending time daily reading her Bible and praying; she was confident in His forgiveness and His mercy. She attended St. James Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she enjoyed the company of many brothers and sisters in Christ. She will be missed for a while, but there is coming a day of reunion when we will once again see one another, never again to be separated.
