Elizabeth Anne (Francka) Kressig loving wife, mother and grandmother passed from this life on March 16, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
Elizabeth was born on Feb. 15, 1936 to Ben and Mary Ann Francka of Bolivar, Missouri. Elizabeth graduated from Southwest Missouri State College after attending Bolivar High School with a teaching degree. She later returned to college twice to obtain a Masters Degree and later a library certification. She taught at many levels including high school, middle school, elementary school and as a school librarian. Elizabeth married Robert Kressig on August 7, 1958. They raised three children, Deborah, Robert, and Marcia.
She is most remembered by her family in her role as caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Elizabeth's Catholic faith was important to her throughout her life. She was involved in many activities at Holy Trinity Catholic Church including managing the church library. She enjoyed traveling on family vacations and spending time with friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Ben and Mary Ann Francka and her two brothers, Ben (Ruth) and Bernard Francka.
She is survived by her children, Deborah, Robert, and Marcia Davis (John), her grandchildren Zachary, Bridget, Elizabeth Grace, Margaret, and Marianne Davis and her sister Sophia Griesbaum (Ed), sister-in-law Barbara Francka as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The viewing and rosary will be Friday, March 24 at 1:30 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30, Friday, March 24, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield. Donations in Elizabeth's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
