Obituary

Elinor (Ellie) Mae Schubert was a caring wife, mother of one daughter, and grandmother to five grandchildren, and great grandmother to six grandchildren. She left this world on February 15, 2023 at the age of 87.

Ellie was born to Florence and Daniel Murphy on August 20, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Beaumont High School, she attended a business school to become a comptometer operator. Ellie was offered a job at the Frisco Railroad where she met her future husband, William (Bill) Schubert. Ellie and Bill were married on October 1, 1955. Together they had one daughter, Karen. In 1964, Ellie moved with Bill and Karen to Springfield, Missouri. She then went with Bill when he was transferred to Colorado for three years and returned to Springfield, Missouri for the remainder of her life.

Ellie enjoyed traveling to various destinations in the United States and abroad. She loved entertaining her family and friends and would make them laugh until her very last moments on Earth. Ellie volunteered at St. John's Hospital and was the president of the women's auxiliary. Ellie was always a great listener who encouraged one to focus on the positive and live in the present.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on February 23, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 2200 W. Republic Rd. in Springfield, Missouri.
