Obituary

Eleanor Naomi Bewley, age 76, passed away on Dec. 2, 2011 at the Ponce Care Center. Eleanor was a native of Springfield, MO. She earned a B.A. from Berea College and a M.A. from Eastern Kentucky University. Her professional career included working for Community Health Center in Somerset, KY and Mountain Maternal Health League, Inc. in Berea, KY, and later volunteering at Berea Hospital. She and her husband of 60 years, Donald, retired to Florida in 1995.
Eleanor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a member of the American Mental Health Association, American Personnel and Guidance Association and Beta Sigma Phi and the First Christian Church of the Beaches in Neptune Beach. Her hobbies included interior design, tennis, bridge, pottery and sewing.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Don; son, Dave Bewley and his wife Laura Klausing of St. Johns, FL; grandsons, Brett Bewley and wife Stephanie Lore and Trevor Bewley, both of Jacksonville; sisters, Joan (Jim) Breese of Springfield, MO, Tanya (Mike) Bethurem of Jellico, TN; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her parents, Vivian and Elmer Smith; a son, Stephen Bewley and a sister, Jean Orchard preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 9th from 1 to 2 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
