Eileen M. Clapper 93, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday November 11, 2018 in Springfield. She was born on December 2, 1924 in New Orleans, LA to Fred and Luella (Riley) Goebel.

She then met her future husband, Bob while working at G.E. and they later married on October 16, 1948. They were then blessed with four children, Karen, Joanne, William and Chris.

Eileen loved bird watching, gardening, listening to big band music but most of all loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Bob; son, William; granddaughter, Theresa Berryman; brother, Buddy and sister, Claire.

Survivors include her three children, Karen (Phil) Smith, Joanne (Mike) Berryman and Chris (Gary) Schwartz; daughter in-law, Barbara Clapper; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew and Matthew Smith, Jesse, Christopher and Jacob Berryman, Annie and Douglas Clapper; 16 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and countless friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Manor for the excellent care they provided for Eileen. An additional thank you is extended to Becky for being a very special friend to both Eileen and her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 12:00-1:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield, MO) with graveside to follow at 1:00 pm at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens
