Edgar Louis Munson Jr., 98, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was born on Monday, March 29, 1926 in Marshfield, MO to Dorothy Taylor and Edgar L. Munson Sr.

Ed enjoyed traveling, hunting, archery, being a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Elks Lodge. He married Martha Estes and together they shared 57 loving years. Ed served his county for 23 years in the US Air Force and after retiring as a Master Sergeant, went to work for the US Post Office.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister Edith Hinkel.

Ed is survived by his three children Ella L. Munson, Elliot L. Munson wife Randie) and Edward L. Munson (wife Tammy), one sister Eleanor Engilking, best friend Shirley Keck, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO 65804. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the D.A.V., Boys Town of Missouri, Easterseals Midwest or the charity of your choice.
