Edgar "Ray" Gibson, 78, of Springfield has finally joined his loving wife in the presence of their Lord on April 3, 2016 with family by his side. Ray was born on June 9, 1937 to William and Leota Gibson.
Ray married the love of his life Juanita on April 15, 1957. He retired from the City of Springfield on June 15, 2004 where he held the position of Caretaker II of Parks and recreation. He loved antique cars and was also a tractor enthusiast.
Ray was preceded in death by the love of his life Juanita, and two daughters; Rosalee and Leona.
He is survived by his son Henry, 2 daughters; Vickie Marshall and husband Mike, and Thelma Gillette along with daughter in-law Karen Gibson. Ray is also survived by his grandchildren; Felecia Stewart and husband Mark, Amy Johnson and husband Tobias, Cody Marshall, Cory Marshall, Jennifer Gillette, Madison Gibson, and 6 great-grandchildren Brooke Johnson, Hunter Johnson, LeeRoy Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Leah Stewart and Logan Stewart, as well as a host of family and friends.
