Obituary

Parlee Earlene Owens, 87, of Springfield, MO went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2021. Earlene was born on Monday, September 11, 1933 in Dora, MO to Beeda and Thurlo Adams.

Loren Owens and Earlene Adams met at the Doling Park skating rink, where they both enjoyed roller skating. They dated for a year before marrying on January 3, 1954. Two Children were born to the marriage, Gary Owens and Darla Gott. Loren and Earlene were both members of the Kansas Expressway Church of Christ where they loved their Church and their Church family. Earlene loved to play music and sing in her younger days. She and her sister Velma were well known as the "Adams Sisters". They played music at Fantastic Caverns, the VFW Hall, Mooneyham barn and many other places in the Springfield area.  Earlene was a classic at playing "the spoons" at music shows. Her favorite Country Artist was Loretta Lynn she sang every song of Loretta's. Earlene and her mother Beeda loved to sew. They made all their clothes for performing at the music shows. Earlene loved her family; she was a stay-at-home mom. When her kids were grown and married, she cared for all the grandchildren before they started school. She loved to take them to the park and swimming. She also babysat other children that always held a special place in her heart. Earlene enjoyed Wednesday's with her daughter Darla. Most every Wednesday since Loren passed away in 2008 Earlene and Darla spent the day together, thrift store shopping, going out to eat and going for a drive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Gary Owens, one great grandson Darrell Gott Jr., two sisters Elevern Adams and Velma Denny and one brother Arlewis Adams.

Earlene is survived by her daughter Darla Gott (husband Marvin) of Republic, MO, six grandchildren Johnny Owens, Melissa Gott (husband Bobby), David Gott, Darrell Gott, Daniel Gott (wife Chelsie) and Lashonda Jones, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Earlene was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
