Earl Jacobs, 91 passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in Springfield, MO. He was born November 24, 1923 in Hartford, AR to Oscar Eugene and Olas Marie (Blaylock) Jacobs.

Earl married the love of his life, Ida Mae Fritts on Sept. 23, 1960 in Sand Springs, OK and enjoyed 27 years of marital bliss until her passing on Nov. 11, 1987. He was a devoted STL Cardinals fan, loved going to the Missouri State Lady Bears basketball games and a huge Univ of OK fan except when Dick Vitel was the announcer. He also enjoyed gambling trips to Laughlin, NV, was a WWII Veteran and worked in the grocery business over 50 years and then retired from Fleming Foods.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; brother, Gene; sister, Opal; brother-in-law, Carl Bledsoe; sister-in-law (and partner in crime) Ebbie Jacobs; and close friend Dick Johnson.

He is survived by daughter, Angie Weldon (Michael) of Springfield, MO; son, Dewayne Jacobs (Pam) of Eufala, OK, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 4-6 PM at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at the Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Services will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9:00 AM in Grace Church of the Nazarene, 540 E. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, MO officiated by Pastor Leon Hendrix. Burial will take place at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK.
