Dorothy J "Dottie" Teal Batson, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday March 10, 2022. She was born March 1, 1938 at her childhood home in Fair Grove, MO to Gladys (Ball) & Floy Sutherland. She attended Fair Grove schools class of 1955, and attended Evangel College and Rhema Bible College. Dorothy married Richard Paul Teal and to this union were born 3 children Kent, Tammy and Scott.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 3 brothers, Arles, Norman, and JC Sutherland all of Fair Grove; an infant brother Forrest, Paul Teal, and Marvin Batson, Sr. Dorothy married Marvin Batson on June 5, 2005. She and Marvin Pastored Elwood Full Gospel Church for many years where she played piano as part of her ministry. Dottie loved her life long career of teaching piano for over 50 years to countless students who loved her in return. She was a member of Springfield Music Federation. To those who knew her, she was always enjoying her flowers, all her feathered friends, and reading her Bible.

Survivors are Kent (Diane) Teal, Emily (Chad) Hartman, Collin Teal, Ruby Kate Hartman, Tammy Teal, Scott (Vicki) Teal, the Abby Fauvergue family, the Emily Durbin family, the Marvin Batson Jr. family and the Jeff Batson family; Countless family and friends who will greatly miss her.

A celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Klingner Cope White Chapel on West Division. A visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
