Dorothy M. Asbury, 98 of Springfield, was born on January 10, 1916 in Braymer, MO to Roy and Millie (Stubblefield) Wright. She passed away on December 12, 2014.
She was a very talented seamstress, made quilts and dolls, giving to the church charities and loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James Asbury; parents; daughter, Shirley Balke; son, Donald Asbury and a step-daughter, Mary Boehne. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Nichols and husband Dick; son, Gary Asbury and wife Margaret; grandson Eddie Tyler; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 1 till 2 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Midtown, 1635 N Benton Ave, Springfield, MO. Service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
